DESCRIPTION: LPW - Swiss, likely by Agassiz, triple signed for retailer Hamrick & Son of Philadelphia, PA, 36mm, heavy 18K gold box hinge drum style original HC with monogram initials to front, monogram 1883 date to rear, hexagonal pendant, gold cuvette, white enamel SS dial, SW-shift-locking-LS, lever escapement with counterpoise, 16J, nickel damascene, s#23421. Gross weight of assembled watch 38.5 dwt (59.9 g).
CONDITION: Mvt: NR, fully wound and will tick briefly with a twist or continuously with a twist and some excess pressure held to crown, overhaul needed, excellent cosmetic mvt condition overall, some white-ish toning of plate surfaces, small bits of oxide to larger winding wheel; dial virtually flawless in visible portion with only an infinitesimal pinpoint nick to the right rim of the seconds-register hole; nearly mint hands; case shows hardly any wear, profuse micro-fine scratches, sharp ding at upper perimeter of rear, excellent engraving detail, case rear opens short of 90 degrees (to approximately 80 degrees); tight bow, crown shows little wear; good glass crystal.
